GyroStim MdDS Clinical Results
GyroStim MdDS Clinical Results
47 patients reporting as of 4/27/18 (reporting began 5/1/17)
Attempts are made to follow up with each person following GyroStim completion at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. As we are just passing the 1 year mark since our first individual trialed our GyroStim with visual targeting system, we plan to maintain contact no less than yearly to inquire about symptoms.
Subjective Improvements: Does the individual report noticing any improvements?
Objective Improvements: Test results post-GyroStim compared to pre-GyroStim
Standard tests:
· Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP)
· Modified Dynamic Gait Index (mDGI)
· Static vs Dynamic Visual Acuity Testing (SVA vs DVA)
Additional testing based on presentation:
· Video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT/vHIMP)
· Suppression Head Impulse Testing (SHIMP)
· Videonystagmography (VNG), basic battery
· Videonystagmography (VNG), additional testing
· Other
Yes No Worse
Subjective Improvements 42* 4 1**
Objective Improvements 46 1 0
*8 of 42 report full resolution of symptoms of which the longest reported duration remaining symptom-free has now been 1 year (treatment began in our clinic 1 year ago).
*6 of the 42 reporting improvements have not sustained improvements (i.e. symptoms returned to baseline).
**Using a 0-10 scale rating with 0 being no symptoms and 10 being severe symptoms, the individual who reported feeling worse verbally reported 9/10 pre-GyroStim, a 4/10 mid-way through training (the lowest since onset of MdDS symptoms, although this was not sustained) and 8/10 post-GyroStim training. Individual verbally stated feeling worse after returning home but maintained a reporting score of 8/10.
